Air ambulance controversy in Israel, too
Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was transported to the hospital by ground ambulance rather than helicopter, leading to speculation in the media that he would have been better off going by air. Some commenters at Ynet even speculated that there was some kind of conspiracy that should be investigated. But air ambulances aren't as great as assumed. As I wrote in some of my first posts (here and here) on this blog, air ambulances don't necessarily get patients to the hospital faster, and they have some drawbacks as well.I wish the Prime Minister a full and speedy recovery.
