Health care costs killing the "creative industry" too?
From the New York Times:
[R]elentless inflation in real estate and health care costs are endangering New York's long dominance in the creative sector, according to a new report... [by the]Center for an Urban Future, a left-leaning New York research group that analyzes urban policy issues
I took a look at the report which mentions health care 24 times in its 32 pages. The main point seems to be that "creative workers" have low pay and unsteady jobs, and don't tend to qualify for health insurance. The report suggests pooling freelancers into larger groups to purchase insurance. That may not be enough to save the City.
